About Me

 Background of Me

Educational Background

My journey into chemical engineering began with a deep fascination for chemistry, sparked by an early encounter with my elder brother’s chemistry book. This interest led me to pursue formal education in the field, starting with an HND in Chemical Engineering, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Kumasi Technical University, Ghana. My academic performance was outstanding, as I graduated with a 1st class honors degree and was recognized as the best graduating student in the Department of Chemical Engineering.

I have continued to expand my knowledge and expertise through further education. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Biblical Studies at Global Baptist Bible College in the USA and a Certificate in Business Administration with a specialization in Leadership, Technology, and Theology at Faith Leads University, USA. Additionally, I am working towards a Diploma in Theology at BETH College.

Teaching Assistants Exposure

After completing my degree, I had the opportunity to serve as a Teaching Assistant in the Chemical Engineering Department at Kumasi Technical University, Ghana. In this role, I assisted in teaching core courses such as Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics and Reactor Design, Stagewise Operation, and Process Dynamics and Control. This experience not only deepened my understanding of these subjects but also allowed me to mentor and guide younger students, which was an incredibly rewarding experience.

Postgraduate Research and Development

Following my undergraduate studies, I joined Prof. Ing. Robert D. Nagre, Lecturer and Head of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Kumasi Technical University, as a research assistant. Our primary focus was on designing equipment to produce briquette fuel from composite agro-plastic wastes. This research culminated in a publication titled "Equipment Design, Production and Characterisation of Clean Briquette Fuel from Composite Agro-Plastic Wastes," which I co-authored in 2020. This project ignited my passion for research and development, particularly in the areas of sustainability and waste management.

Chemical Plant Industry Exposure

My professional experience in the chemical plant industry is extensive and diverse. I have worked in various roles across multiple sectors, including:

  1. Chemical Sealant Plant (Royal Way Industry – UAE): Conducting experiments, recording data, and testing adhesives, sealants, and coatings.
  2. Plastics Recycling Plant (Hateen Plastics Recycling Factory – UAE): Supervising plant operations to ensure safety and cost-efficiency.
  3. Solvent Extraction Plant (Ghana Nuts Company Limited – Ghana): Managing plant operations, ensuring product quality, and optimizing costs.
  4. Edible Oil Refinery Plant (Juaben Oil Mill Limited – Ghana): Overseeing laboratory work and controlling key processes such as degumming and bleaching.
  5. Water Treatment Plant (Ghana Water Company Limited – Ghana): Conducting comprehensive water quality tests and managing water treatment systems.
  6. Pharmaceutical Process Plant (Pokupharma Company Limited – Ghana): Performing laboratory tests and overseeing the production of various pharmaceutical formulations.

Being in these environments has provided me with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of process control, quality management, and the importance of safety in the chemical industry.

Project Management and Leadership

In my pursuit of professional excellence, I have also obtained several certifications that complement my technical expertise, including Project Quality Management, Process Management, and Time Management from Great Learning Academy. These certifications have honed my ability to lead teams effectively, manage complex projects, and align operations with organizational goals.

Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement

Quality assurance and continuous improvement have always been at the forefront of my professional endeavors. My ability to interpret QA reports, take corrective actions, and ensure that operations meet the highest standards has been instrumental in the success of the projects I have been involved in.

Sustainability and Innovation

My commitment to sustainability is reflected in my research and professional work. I am passionate about finding innovative solutions that are environmentally friendly and contribute to a more sustainable future for the chemical engineering industry.

A Vision for the Future

My educational and professional journey has been one of constant growth and learning. I look forward to continuing to innovate and contribute to the chemical engineering field. Through my blog, "ENGINEERING GLOBE," I aim to share my experiences and insights, helping to guide and inspire the next generation of chemical engineers.

In addition to my passion for engineering, I have also integrated my faith into my work by expanding "ENGINEERING GLOBE" to include a ministry dedicated to sharing the Word of God. As a prophetic minister, I believe in the importance of blending spiritual wisdom with professional expertise. This platform allows me to not only mentor young engineers but also to provide spiritual guidance, helping others find purpose and direction in both their careers and personal lives.
